About the Southern Nevada Chapter

Founded in 2003, we are part of the CCNY Alumni Association, a non-profit, 503[c] charitable organization. Currently, we are the only CCNY Alumni Association chapter in the State of Nevada.

Our mission is to provide scholarships for deserving and needy students at CCNY.  Along the way, we get together and have fun. All proceeds net of expenses and donations support our Scholarship fund.

Any CCNY Alumni Association member residing in Nevada is eligible to vote in our elections or be a candidate for an officer or director..

So far, all of our activities have originated in the greater Clark County, Nevada area. This region includes the communities of the greater Las Vegas area, Henderson, Summerlin, Boulder City, Mesquite, Laughlin, Green Valley, and  others.

Our common bond is our association with the City College of New York. Many of us attended CCNY as students. Having received the benefits of a valuable CCNY education, we now feel an obligation to help others do the same.

Your Board of Directors works hard throughout the year putting together fun activities that you will, hopefully, enjoy. At the same time, we, raise money to help bright, needy CCNY students with tuition expenses. By having events as a large group, we can negotiate excellent rates - usually much better than you can as an individual. Some of the savings are passed on to you, and some goes to the Scholarship Fund. Officers and directors get no discounts, and they often pay for incidental expenses out of their own pockets.

Please help us continue this vital work. Come to our events and have fun, and if you can't, please return your registration form with a tax deductible donation. We are a non-profit, charitable organization.
